there’s now a whole bunch of stuff available to grab in the ol’ webshop. there’s a good selection of testtube babies, severed heads, and also the testtube display racks crafted by my own grarled hands.

granted, there is nothing new here that veterans of the site havent seen before – but this is the last batch of most of these critters for a while as the majority of their moulds are now kaput (and i have no idea when I’ll get round to making new ones).  so if there’s something missing from your collection then now is probably the time to fill that void.

it would be nice to clear through a lot of this to give me funds to invest in new projects. so ive dropped the price a wee bit: £20 per testtube baby.

A. a teeny tiny unicorn foetus’ severed head!

^^that’s wasn’t a joke, just a bit of factual information for you. well, i say ‘factual’ but infact it is quite subjective.. apparently no everyone thinks dismember unborn children are quite as adorable as i do. weird, huh?

sometimes that specimens i get into stock are just not a high enough quality to sell on the site, so i still endeavour to use the remains however i can. and while most of the tiny bodyparts make delicious crunchy snack – i do find skulls to be a little too hard to eat. so i snip the heads off the little blighters and put them in testtubes.

as you can see, these specimens can be used purely for display, or they can be threaded onto chains to make delightful jewellery!

they’re not the kind of babies that’ve been created in a test-tube..  nope, these are little foetus specimens that have been put into test-tubes so they can be displayed as the fabulous and cute curiosities that they are. brilliant!

currently, i have 4 types of specimen available: unicorn, t-rex, mermaid, and minotaur [all pictured below]. as you can see they’re all seriously cute. they make excellent low maintenance pets, and ideal gifts too.

soon i will have also squidlings available, and after that there will be more unusual and mythical creatures too!

each specimen comes in their own hand-made shipping crate, along with a personalised lab report/adoption certificate.

some friends of mine who run good vibrations magazine [link] were putting on a techno night in liverpool. the idea was that it would be monster-themed to tie in with the cover of the latest issue [which i'll tell you about soon!]

there would be burnt-out smouldering wrecks in the club, evacuation tunnels linking areas, old B&W godzilla movies projected against the walls, and they drafted me in to help decorate the DJ booth.

they simply asked for teeth  at the top and bottom of the booth’s window. but we ended up going for this…

it’s pretty big – the chair should give you an idea of the scale!

this is my childhood, my friends, and my inspiration – all now splattered out on a rather brightly coloured piece of canvas.

a couple of the characters used are from tattoos already inked on my friends – and i thank them for their permission to recreate them.

virtually all of the other IP on here belongs to big faceless corporations — with the exception of the robot and dog in the top corner overseeing the whole piece. those fellas they are the very specific intellectual property of sam brown at explodingdog. (i didn’t ask sam if i could use his characters, but i will write and tell him about this soon.)

this was a 1st year uni project in my animation module.  it could certainly do with a little polish, but given that i’d never done stop-motion before and that i was new to editing, it ain’t half bad! enjoy
