You’ll be able to check out original artwork, plagerised artwork, prints, props, patches, and babies in glass tubes. We’ll have independent filmmakers selling their wares, alongside FX artists selling their body parts. Get your filthy mits on horror-themed xmas cards, horrific t-shirts, unpleasant badges and putrid pins. You’ll even be able to find horror movie memorabilia, indie horror books, underground zines, and terrifying comics books alongside their even more terrifying authors!

Ok, ok. so it’s almost christmas – I guess we have to acknowledge the festivities somehow. We’ll be playing host to S̶a̶t̶a̶n̶ ̶C̶l̶a̶w̶s̶ erm, sorry – I mean Santa Claus. He’ll be here. Santa, definitely not Satan. Old Nick himself will have a grotto decked out with bones, offal, severed limbs and fairy lights! If you can convince his delinquent Elf helpers that you’ve been a naughty girl or boy, then you might even get to pay the ol’ git a visit and get a terrible present!

FACEPAINTER with a difference…
If you fancy a horrific xmas make-over for the day, we’ll have Effie_Dahmer SFX artist on hand to change your look. But this’ll not be the usual butterflies & glitter that you get from regular facepainters – we’re talking scars, wounds, skullfaces, or good old zombification!

There’ll be music. The bar will be open. People will be laughing and children will be crying!

So come along, enjoy the hospitality, get to know your local horror community, and buy some amazing things that you will not see at any other market in our fair city! And most importantly, help us raise some much needed money for the Whitechapel Homeless Centre.

Not only are we showing the movie – but we’ll have the writer behind ‘More Brains’ in attendance, Gary Smart! (‘More Brains’ is the definitive RotLD documentary which is featured on the Collectors Edition of the film.) After the film, Gary will be chatting to us about the film and its legacy. He’ll be happy to take questions on the movie, the doc, the stars involved, or you can chat with him about his other filmmaking projects as Dead Mouse Productions [link]

The good folk of Sanctuary Bar in Liverpool [link] will be our hosts for the night. Sanctuary is a self described ‘Dive Bar & Drinking Den’ operated by the Design 4 Life Tattoo crew. It’s a great place, staffed by folk who appreciate the horror culture. We’ll be in the basement, which is an intimate setup – max 40 capacity.

I should state that is not a cinema location. We will be using cabaret style seating (tables& chairs, rather than rows of seats), and expect it to be more of a fun atmospheric night, rather than a hushed cinema-going experience. First we have episode six in the Friday the 13th franchise: Jason Lives! This is the film where Jason is ressurrected from beyond the grave as an unstoppable supernatural entity. It’s a very 80s movie – a horror romp in which lots of teenagers die, accompanied by a heavy rock soundtrack featuring Alice Cooper. \m/,

Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is up second. It’s a self aware genre-bending slasher movie presented as a documentary. We follow the lead character, Leslie Vernon, as he trains to become the archetypal Slasher seeking vengeance for wrongs he feels were done to him in his childhood. This really is a movie full of great ideas. It understands all of the tropes that make a slasher film work so well and puts them into a narrative for us to appreciate – and also reflect on every slasher movie that has come before.

We are screening these movies at the Liverpool Community Cinema (formerly Small Cinema). It’s an intimate venue of only 56 seats – seating is unreserved, so get there early for a good spot!  The venue also has a bar attached, so we can all have a drink together afterwards and argue the finer points of genre film!

sometimes we look out into the world and see something horrible unfolding.. i’m talking about the shift to the right wing – both here in britain with the brexit vote, and over in the states with the trump movement.

i wanted to speak up, maybe even do some art.. but i’ve always been reticent to get political with my work, and i also worried about upsetting some of my american friends who are republicans.

however. after the news (26july) regarding his stance on trans people in the military, i decided that i’d just heard too much of his bullshit and decided to do this project. so i apologise in advance if this offends any of my american friends, but i feel like there are major problems with his ethics and policies so will be adding my creative voice against his ideas in my own small way.

although rather than comment on that issue (trans people in the military), i felt that i was better able to comment on a previous problem which bothered me greatly: resolution 43. this is the bill which removed government funding from the planned parenthood clinics.

so. in true zombieking fashion – i made a foetus…

this is ” aborto trump: specimen HJres43 ”

i’ve had this idea to do a trump-foetus thing ever since the HJres43 bill. creating a hideous aborted version of a trump-like foetus [especially given his views on planned parenthood] seemed like a perfect juxtaposition of concepts.

and to capitalise on the fact that i’m using this guy’s horrible likeness – then i will use some of that money to support a cause he does not believe in. proactive karma in action

so for every one i sell, i will donate $5 to planned parenthood US [these guys].

also. one of my friends MikeysArtBiz [link] made a Trump-inspired pin a little while ago. when i told him what i was doing he loved the idea and has given me a bunch of pins to bundle along with my aborto-trump. if you buy a pin too – he will donate EVERY penny of that to planned parenthood.

so here’s the deal: the foetus is £17.50, and adding the pin is an extra £5 for a total of £22.50

i will be donating money specifically to Iowa & Texas clinics, as they seem to have been worst hit by changes in government policy in recent times.

initially there’ll be x20 up for grabs. i will make more if people like them. and while they’re not a strictly limited release – they will only be available as long as trump is in offfice. when he is gone, they’ll be gone!

#FUCKTRUMP

MAKEFEST 2017 is happening on saturday 24th june at the Liverpool Central Library

Free entry to this friendly one day festival celebrating all things ‘makey’.

There are 200+ Makers showcasing science, technology, crafts, creations, inventions and gadgets. There will be hands-on activities, ranging from coding to crafts! It’s the the north-west’s biggest Maker event and it is gonna be boss!

I’m gonna be there helping out on the DoES liverpool stand, as well as showing off some of my own work and chatting to folk about the moulding & casting process.

Please come along see all the beautiful and fun creations, and have a chat to the creatives who make this such an enthusiastic and welcoming community!

in recent times, when ive been selling the various testtube babies, i havent been replenishing their stock levels.

most of my moulds are now defunkt, so it would take a herculean effort to remould them all, and get a decent amount of each cast, painted, prepped, boxed and everything else that goes along with such intricate little pieces of artwork. all-in-all this means that the testtube baby ranges wont be available to buy again in the immediate future.

i do still have 1 or 2 critters still hanging out here with me, but these last few items aren’t enough stock to justify the shop still being open for ‘business as usual‘ – so for now the webshop is closed.

moving forwards, i have a handful of personal projects im working on at the minute – miniature figures, board game prototypes, workshops, etc.  will share that stuff in due course, or you can check out my instagram [link] for updates.

im also doing a piece of artwork for robert lowe’s Dark Art Tarot project [link] which is currently on kickstarter – im painting the 3 of swords! so please have a look at that and consider pledging your hard earned cash to bring that project to life.

virtually all of my moulds are worn out. I do still have all the original sculpts, but it’ll likely be a good while before I get any of these remoulded and back into production. I fully intend to re-release this testtube baby range in the future (as well as other new specimens I’ve been working on) but projects pile up and workflow gets disrupted so I make no promises about when this might happen! .

there’s now a whole bunch of stuff available to grab in the ol’ webshop. there’s a good selection of testtube babies, severed heads, and also the testtube display racks crafted by my own grarled hands.

granted, there is nothing new here that veterans of the site havent seen before – but this is the last batch of most of these critters for a while as the majority of their moulds are now kaput (and i have no idea when I’ll get round to making new ones).  so if there’s something missing from your collection then now is probably the time to fill that void.

it would be nice to clear through a lot of this to give me funds to invest in new projects. so ive dropped the price a wee bit: £20 per testtube baby.
