the rainbow’s end

death & rainbows iii

when i posted a previous painting [link], i wrote that it was a bit of a turning point. this particular painting sees me playing again with the themes of macabre imagery alongside vibrant colours.

it was quite a journey getting to this point too. i only had a vague idea of where i wanted it to go at the outset, and as i painted, and repainted, and repainted, it evolved and took on it’s own direction. it took around 6 weeks to get to this stage, and im not convinced it’s actually finished yet either!
